Book Review of Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

This book is amazing. The writing is fast-paced and crisp, and the author delivers a tale that does not disappoint.

Mariko is a strong heroine, who does not hesitate to do what must be done- whether it is killing a man who attacks her, or disguising herself as a boy and joining the secret Black Clan.

The characters are well rounded- Kenshin (Mariko’s twin), Ranmaru (the leader of the Black Clan), his trusted champion, the mysterious Okami, all have their own agenda and story and the reader will be drawn into sympathizing with them.

I am very interested in learning about the motley crew that makes up the Black Clan and hope that more is revealed in the sequel.

And before I forget (though that is impossible), the descriptions are beautiful, especially the description of the forest and the teahouse, you can almost smell, feel and see everything,.
See, its amazing!

I loved the twist in the tale and am earnestly waiting for the sequel.
